What is Ethics Assure™?
Ethics Assure™ is a protocol all members of the The International Therapeutic Standards must sign up to.
In short when individuals or organisations seek membership they must agree that they will:
- Act in a professional manner towards their clients and potential clients.
- Make all transactions with their clients transparent.
- Only strive to benefit those they work with and not cause them harm.
- Seek to safeguard the welfare and rights of those with whom they interact professionally and other affected persons.
- Avoid or attempt to minimize or redress conflicts of interest at the earliest possible moment.
- Not misuse their influence in anyway.
- Engage in continuous professional development and keep abreast of current development, techniques and policy in their area.
- Make clear their professional obligations, boundaries and practices.
- Cooperate with other professionals and institutions to the extent needed to serve the best interests of their clients.
- Promote accuracy, honesty, and truthfulness in everything they do.
- Not misrepresent themselves, their services or results they obtain in any way.
- Not steal, cheat, or engage in fraud, subterfuge, or intentional misrepresentation of fact.
- Keep their promises.
- Avoid unwise or unclear commitments.
- Take precautions to ensure that their potential biases, the boundaries of their competence, and the limitations of their expertise do not lead to or condone unjust practices, poor service delivery or over promising.
- Respect the dignity and worth of all people.
- Respect the rights of individuals to privacy, confidentiality, and self-determination.
- Develop and maintain their competence.
Any infringement of the above will be investigated and can result in verification being revoked.
