Named after the famous multiple personality disorder patient "Sybil", this is a method of trying to create a bigger presence on the internet and fool search engines into giving a website a higher search ranking.
The method involves creating a series of different websites with similar content all with different domain names that link to each other. For example a main site selling therapy X is created with a domain name of Therapy'X'.com. That site is then linked to a fake review site with a different domain name (URL address) giving Therapy X a gold star compared to it's competitors therapies and links back to Therapy'X'.com. A fake blog site might also be set up with comments saying how great therapy X is, linking back to Therapy'X'.com. Another fake website might be set up which is mentioned and linked to from the fake blog site, which also mentions Therapy'X'.com and links to it. In this way way a whole network of sites are created each adding weight to the next and Therapy X.
