How to get the International Therapeutic Standards Verification Mark

When you join you will get an email asking you for the following information:

 We only need 13 pieces of information from you:

1. The name and contact details of the designer of the materials and the website owner
2. A list of verifiable qualifications held by the designer of the materials (if claimed on the site)
3. A resume of the experience of the therapist in question
4. The URL* of the home page of web site
5. The URL of the contact details of the service and details of how your customers find this – where is the link to this page?
6. The URL of the terms and conditions and details of how your customers find this – where is the link to this page?
7. The URL of your charging structure and details of how your customers find this – where is the link to this page?
8. The URL of any guarantees offered and details of how your customers find this – where is the link to this page?
9. The URL which shows how complaints are dealt with and details of how your customers find this – where is the link to this page?
10. Are you anti-spam compliant?
11. We need is verifiable evidence about three of your published testimonials. These could be scanned letters, full copies of emails (they must include the email address of the sender), or any other signed verification.
12. Evidence of any claims you make on the site. For instance the 'worlds number 1 site for bunions', or any other similar claims.
13. Details of your payment processor. For instance do you keep records of clients credit cards details or are they done by a third party? If so who?

*URL = Uniform Resource Locator or address. For example the URL for our site is http://www.therapeuticstandards.com.

 What we check automatically

In addition we will check your site for the following:

1. Malicious software, malware, spyware, viruses etc.
2. Spamming history.
3. Black hat SEO – link spamming, gateway sites etc. If you don't know what this is don't worry. They are methods of unfairly boosting a websites prominence on search engines. Most search engines already penalize websites for this. We check to make sure you are not engaging in such practices.
4. We also do a who is check.

 How long the process takes

It normally takes us 3-4 days to check out a site. We do this using humans because they are better at making informed judgments than a bot.

When you are successful we will send you

1. A series of logos you can show on your website to give your clients security and you credibility
2. A link to your online verification certificate, and
3. Tutorials about how to use them to best effect.

 What to do if you are unsuccessful on the first attempt

If you are unsuccessful we will give you explicit feedback. Once you have fixed the problem we will re-evaluate the site. We evaluate sites up to three times in any six-month period.
